main goal:

QSNP aims to develop advanced quantum technology for quantum secure communication networks against the ever-increasing power of computers and the sophistication of algorithms, even for quantum computers. This includes the deployment of next generation protocols based on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) cryptography techniques. QSNP targets the integration of the innovative quantum cryptography technology not only at the component, system and network levels, but also into existing classical telecommunication systems. The technology developed is planned to be applied into different use cases, mainly to deliver critical European technology for government infrastructures such as the European Quantum Communications Infrastructure (EuroQCI).

nextworks role:

Our focus is on design and development of solutions for end-to-end distributed and cooperative network management, targeting SDN control prototypes for multi-domain, multi-technology, multi-stakeholder infrastructures and SDN quantum communications. Nextworks leads the task on management and orchestration of large-scale quantum communication networks.
