main goal:

PREDICT-6G aims to develop an inherently deterministic, novel Multi-technology, Multi-domain, Data-Plane; overhauling the reliability and time-sensitive design features existing in current wired and wireless standards. To achieve this, the project is developing an AI-driven Multi-stakeholder Inter-domain Control-Plane for the provisioning of deterministic network paths to support time sensitive services as requested by end-customers, including different scaling ambitions, e.g., from the network in a single vehicle to a large, geographically dispersed network.

nextworks role:

Our role in the project involves coordinating the development activities of the AI-driven Multi-stakeholder Inter-domain Control-Plane for the future deterministic 6G network. The Control-Plane is responsible for orchestrating network and compute resources and integrating the different data-plane resources to be able to configure reliable and time sensitive E2E flows across a multi-domain multi-technology network. Nextworks is also leading the design, development and implementation of the Monitoring Platform and Data Management for deterministic networks, a distributed monitoring and data management platform capable of collecting data and KPIs from a variety of network data sources to feed the AI pipelines for model training and analytical actions, all while considering the specific characteristics of a deterministic network. Finally, we are also leading the system integration of the data-plane and control-plane components of the project to build working system prototypes implementing the services, functionalities and workflows developed.
